The State Police has an eighteen year old was arrested and a fourteen year old was reportedfoiling, in broad daylight, the theft of a microcar belonging to a student of a Palermo high school in the Viale Strasburgo area. The young owner had reached the school with the vehicle and had it parked nearby before starting his school day.
He would have had one bad surpriseleaving school if, immediately after the theft, around 1.30 pm, a crew from the S. Lorenzo police station.
The agents, on prevention and control duty in the area, despite being near an area frequented by many young people at that time due to the proximity of schools, cleverly grasped how the pairing of the two with the microcar could have been dictated by illicit reasons. When the police stopped their march, the two young people realized they had been caught in the act and decided to leave the place in a hurry aboard one electric bicycle.
Despite facing the dangers of heavy traffic at that hour, the police caught up with the fugitives and stopped them. During the escape, the two were get rid of the microcar radio which they had had time to steal before the police arrived. They were found on the adult burglary tools used to force the microcar.
The vehicle was returned to the ownerthe electric bicycle was seized as a means used to commit a crime. The adult was arrested, the minor was reported at large.
