UA 47-year-old man from Lucera was arrested by the State Police and the Penitentiary Police of Foggia for possession for the purpose of dealing drugs and undue access to devices suitable for communication by detained individuals.
The investigation arose from a report from the Foggia Penitentiary Police staff, who noticed a suspicious vehicle wandering near the prison. The Flying Squad then started an observation service which allowed the man to be identified while he was throwing a package inside the prison.
The package, recovered by the police, contained 100 grams of hashish and a smartphone. During a house search carried out at the man’s home, another 158 grams of hashish were found.
The man was arrested and taken to the Lucera prison at the disposal of the judicial authorities. The driver of the vehicle was instead reported to be at liberty.
It is important to underline that the people involved are currently under investigation and their guilt will only be ascertained with a possible final conviction.
