In 2023, over 1,266 million euros were spent in Italy to carry out the car inspections in authorized private workshops. Compared to 2022, when spending on car inspections was 1,175 million, Italian motorists spent 7.7% more. These data emerge from an elaboration of theAutopromotec Observatory on information from the Ministry of Infrastructure and Transport.

In 2023 they were in Italy 16,026,238 car inspections carried out in authorized private centres, up by 7.7% compared to 2022, when there were 14,877,795. The increase in spending was due solely to the increase in inspections carried out, given that the fee for inspections carried out in authorized private centers (54.95 euros, to which VAT, fees to be paid and the cost of paying the bulletin must be added ) in 2023 remained unchanged compared to the previous year.
Piedmont first Italian region: +9.8%
The elaboration of the Autopromotec Observatory also provides a statement on the spending on car inspections in the Italian regions. The region that recorded the greatest increase in spending in 2023 compared to 2022 is Piedmont (+9.8%), followed by Lombardy (+9.7%), Friuli-Venezia Giulia (+8.6%), Liguria (+8.4%), Umbria (+8.3%) and Campania (+8%). The increases were more limited in Puglia (+5.8%), Calabria (+5.5%) and Basilicata (+5.2%).
Asti has also grown
The province of Piedmont which in 2023 recorded the greatest growth in spending on car inspections compared to 2022 is Verbania (+12%), followed by Turin and Cuneo (+10.1% for both), Biella (+10%), Alessandria (+9.1%) and Asti (+8.5%).
