The final budget for the year 2023 and the budget for 2024 of the Order of Architects of Agrigento have been approved. During the annual meeting of members, after the report of the President and the Treasurer, the final balance of one of the most productive years in the history of the Order of Agrigento was approved: the year of the centenary of the Foundation of the Orders of Italian Architects .

“In the face of a balanced budget – states the president of the Order, Rino La Mendola – in 2023 we carried out a series of activities, not only as an institutional body to protect the category and good architecture, but also as a promoter of the socio-economic development of the provincial territory”.

“The Assembly of members – adds the treasurer of the Order, Salvatore Porretta – positively evaluated the final budget, which closed in balance, with good cash liquidity, thanks to the recovery of credits started during the year, during which, by accessing the resources of the PNRR – Mission 1 Component 1 – Investment 1.4, we managed to start a path for the progressive digitalisation of secretarial activities and to therefore make the services offered to members more efficient”.

“For the current year – concludes La Mendola – the strong project is to launch Mediterranea: a biennial of Art and Architecture in the Valley of the Temples which could involve artists and architects of clear international fame who, starting from 2025, on a regular basis biennial, they would be called upon to offer their artistic and professional contribution to fuel a growing cultural comparison between the countries bordering the Mediterranean, simultaneously stimulating new art and new quality contemporary architecture. The idea, which the Order intends to carry forward in unison with the competent institutions, would constitute a notable element of tourist attraction and would relaunch Agrigento as the gateway to Europe in the Mediterranean, precisely in the year in which the nomination of the city of temples in the Italian Capital of Culture”.
