LIVORNO – The first week of May is full of events, there are initiatives for all tastes starting from the events linked to Labor Day, but let’s see in detail what events are scheduled from 1st to 5th May.

Atom Heart – Pink Floyd

First of May all dedicated to Pink Floyd, a Villa Fabbricotti at 3pm The Atom Heart – Pink Floyd lovers band is back, thanks to the commitment of Filippo Brandolini’s Il Chioschino, who has always been passionate about the British band.

The concert will be divided into two acts: the first dedicated toalbum “The Wall” which marks 45 years since its release, to move on to the successes and Pink Floyd’s most loved songs. The show will also involve children from Little Pink Chior and the very young flute musicians Fanni Maestrini, Greta Discepolo and Francesca Gherardini.

Workers Day

On May 1st inside the New Fortresswith free entry, from the morning (11 am) there will be a artisan market “Vista mare market” and a space reserved for the fun of girls and boys. There will also be CGIL information stands and then street food and bars.

From 2 pm, in the debate space, a round table will be held on the theme “Work between present and future”.

The concerts will start from 4.30 pm: opening by Unchained who will revisit Quentin Tarantino’s soundtrack repertoire, then the Luarte Projecta project by Chiara Pellegrini, a jazz singer much appreciated in the city and finally Bobo Rondelli together with Crazy people from the junkyards representing a great popular music band, it will be a union between the West Coast and the Maremma.

5 and 5 days

This year the appointment with Street food most loved by the people of Livorno, it will last a good five days. Still within the “Eden” event, at the Terrazza Mascagni, from1 to 5 May.

Fender Guitars

From April 30th to May 5th the event will be held “Guitar & Keys” with which it will be inaugurated on April 30th “Eden at the Mascagni Terrace“, the large tensile structure designed by the LEM Foundation – Livorno Euro Mediterranea. Two collections will be present: over one hundred Fender guitars by Flavio Camorani (50s, 60s and 70s) and the keyboards of Keki Andrei, which can not only be admired, but also listened to and in some cases tried to the delight of enthusiasts. It will be the largest exhibition of vintage musical instruments ever held in Livorno. For keyboards there will be brands such as Hammond, Wurlitzer, Rhodes, Vox, Farfisa, Leslie, but also old synthesizers such as Yamaha, Korg or Roland.

The opening hours of the “Guitar & Keys” will be as follows: Tue 30/4 from 4.00pm to 11.00pm, Wed 1/5 from 10.00am to 11.00pm, Thu 2/5 from 4.00pm to 11.00pm, Fri 3/5 from 4.00pm to 11.00pm, Sat 4/5 from 10.00 to 23.00, Sun 5/5 from 10.00 to 20.00.

One hundred years of the Silos

On the occasion of one hundred years of the Granary Silos, built between 1921 and 1924, and which was used for the storage of grain, various initiatives will be held from 2 to 6 May. We will give all the details soon.

On Happiness Festival

They will be guests of the third edition of the “Sulla Felicità Festival 2024”: the actor Paolo Ruffini And Sonia Peronacifounder of “Giallo Zafferano”.

The first appointment will be on May 3rd at 6pm with the debate “Cucina & Felicità”, at the Cisternino di Città, together with Sonia Peronaci.

On May 4th, the Teatro 4 Mori will host the premiere of the new show by Stefano Santomauro (creator of the Festival) entitled “God save the sex”, 9.30 pm. For information and reservations: www.sullafelicitafestival.it.

On Sunday 5 May at 6pm at Cisternino di Città, it will be Paolo Ruffini’s turn to be the protagonist of a talk during which he will talk about his book “I can only love” and on that occasion he will receive the recognition of “Ambassador of Happiness”. The actress Daniela Morozzi will moderate the two talks.

The event is also scheduled for May 5th usual beach cleaning day and the areas surrounding the Mascagni Terrace (10am) with the involvement of citizens, around 20 local environmental associations, schools and volunteers. Event in collaboration with “Sons Of The Ocean”.

It will also be held 2nd National “Children’s Day” Fiab departing from the cycle station at the Livorno railway station and arriving at the Terrazza Mascagni. Event in collaboration with Fiab Livorno. Meeting point at the cycling station in Piazza Dante, Livorno (simultaneously with the beach cleaning event).

Livorno Librexpo

It returns with over 30 exhibitors from 3 to 5 May the third edition “Livorno Librexpo 2024”, the event, organized by the Etruria Eventi Association and Sergio Consani, writer and musician, which will take place again this year Door to the Sea. Free admission. There will be many meetings with authors who will present their books.

Medicean

The Fortezza Nuova will host “Medicea” on 4 and 5 May: the tasting event, focused on wine, on the products of the territory and of the historic nations present in the city, will take place between the Sala degli Archi, the Sala del Forno and the garden of the fortress walls.

The event will host the fruit of the local culinary tradition and of the Jewish, Site-Maronite and Turkish, German, Dutch, Armenian, Corsican, French, Greek, English and Portuguese communities. A sensorial journey into agri-food production that will offer an overview of richness and diversity, with a focus on the themes of integration and hospitality, which have always been characteristic of Labronicity.
