Piazza della Repubblica, against the backdrop of the Mother Church and Palazzo VII Aprile, hosted a day of fasting for Peace, a non-violent sit-in strongly desired and organized by a group of associations, namely the Even Numbers Network of which they are part Libera, Friends of the Third World, Archè and Windows on the World. The Libera Popular Orchestra was also there. Banners, chairs symbolizing every human action that has left a dramatic mark on the world; then flags, guitars, songs, but above all fasting against any war, that between Russia and Ukraine, between Palestine and Israel, including threats from Iran. Too close to the “Western World” if understood as civil and democratic values to be preserved.
Reflect on the importance of the historical period we are living in, on the wars, on the sense of union, of Europe, of the world.
