L’AQUILA – The exhibition ‘Di nuova vivo’ opens on Friday 3 May, at the Binario 7 theater in Monza, with works by Adelio Maronati and Carlo Mangolini from L’Aquila, born in 1970.
A dialogue between two artists who are distant in terms of training, life and artistic path, but very close in intention.
“The sense of memory and the desire to stimulate it is what brings them together. Their works seem to continuously respond to each other: on the one hand the apparent lightness of Adelio, who uses paper, but giving it the strength of stone, on the other the equally apparent heaviness of Carlo, who deals with iron, but with the smile of irony . On the one hand the essentiality of Adelio’s forms, on the other the magniloquence of Carlo’s. Both create shocking workscapable of taking us by surprise, of making materials different from themselves, creating visual and intellectual short circuits attractive and intelligent. Two different ways of making poetry, but the same poetic intention.”

We talked about it with Carlo Mangolini
“Mangolini’s style, born out of a personal need and a sincere vocation for artistic communication, although already well established since his first works, has defined itself over the years and has grown. In his latest works – write the curators – Carlo has sought a greater synthesis, escaping the risk of aesthetic redundancy that his first works, very rich in assembled elements, could risk.
By deepening the values of balance and harmony that have always characterized his research, he was able to support the process of simplification and search for essentiality that often distinguishes the most mature phase of an artist”.
