Lucchese ends a disappointing year with a draw against Ancona. In fact, the last match of the championship at the Conero stadium ended 0-0, a match that offered very little emotion between two teams who – given the results of the other fields – had nothing left to ask for. The curtain has officially closed on president Bulgarella’s first season, with his Lucchese team saying goodbye to the championship with twelfth place and 45 points (15 defeats).

Having archived a season that was certainly not brilliant (despite the semi-final of the Cup), now we have to start planning the next season with a Lucchese team that will have to be truly ambitious. It remains to be seen what the future of coach Giorgio Gorgone will be, even if his stay in Lucca seems difficult after the dismissal of sporting director Frara.

The news

Closing a disappointing season in the best possible way. This is the objective of Lucchese which, after the defeat at home against Carrarese and the official farewell to the playoffs, closes the championship with the last day on the pitchAncona. The home team’s objective is survival, a result that the Rossoneri have already achieved despite yet another forgettable match last week.

Boos at Porta Elisa: Lucchese KO 1-0 against Carrarese. Goodbye to the playoffs

Mister Giorgio Gorgone (absent on the bench due to the disqualification suffered in the derby) opts for one sort of 3-4-3 with lots of changes (partly due to injuries and suspensions, partly to give space to players who played less during the season): in goal there is captain Coletta, in defense (in full emergency) space for Quirini, Fazzi and De Maria, on the wings Alagna and Visconti, in midfield Astrologo and Cangianiello and in front the trident made up of Fazzi, Yeboah and Guadagni. Bench for Rizzo Pinna and Benassai (not at their best).

The home team started off strong in search of a goal and victory for direct salvation. Ancona attacks and presses in search of the goal to break the deadlock in the match, Lucchese defends well and doesn’t allow great opportunities. In the 20th minute Saco, with a right-footed touch in front of goal, exploded the Conero stadium with a goal which however was disallowed for offside. The Pantera grows as the minutes pass, but the game remains blocked and the pace is very low. The first 45 minutes (plus two extra minutes) passed without providing any excitement: we went into half-time at 0-0.

The teams return to the field without changes for the second half. In the 6th minute the first real opportunity of the match arrived with Martina serving a low cross to the center for Paolucci who from a few steps away – and disturbed by Coletta’s exit – sent the ball to the back. In the 17th minute, a huge chance also for Lucchese: Yeboah, served in the area by Astrologo, first fails to find impact with the ball then, after the favorable rebound, sensationally kicks out from a few steps away, pardoning Ancona, who however have already practically salvation on the pitch due to the results on the other pitches. At 18′ the first substitution arrives for Mister Testini: Guadagni out (still disappointing), Perotta in. In the 21st minute it was Cioffi who pardoned Lucchese: Ancona’s number 11, caught in the area, fired a volley with his right foot but missed the target. The match lights up: in the 25th minute Pericchini saves Ancona with a great save from Russo’s close-range left foot, who could have done better.

At 30′ second substitution for the Pantera: Visconti out, Djibril in. In the 32nd minute Yeboah was once again the protagonist with a right-footed shot from outside that went just wide after a deflection. In the 39th minute Testini brings in the youngsters: Russo and Cangianiello out, Leone and Ndiaye in.
