FEDERCACCIA PIEDMONT. GREAT SUCCESS FOR THE EVENT “THE NEW LAW 157/92” ORGANIZED AT THE MUSEUM OF THE BIELLE TERRITORY – FIDC – Italian Hunting Federation

With the parliamentary debate still open on Law 157/92, Federcaccia Piemonte celebrates the success of an evening organized to offer its members and all the citizens of Biella both a overview on the planned changes to the Hunting Law and, more generally, on the future dynamics that will involve the sector.

To delve deeper into the various issues brought to the attention of the large audience who attended the meeting, the Honorable Francesco Bruzzone, Rapporteur of the proposal to amend Law 157/92, and the Honorable Cristina Patelli, Provincial Commissioner of Eko Club International, moderated by Guido Dellarovere, President of the Piedmont Region Hunting Federation.

The need to adapt a law that today deals with natural and cultural dynamics that are decidedly modified compared to those that existed way back in 1992, regulatory frameworks of reference at both a national and European level, but also sustainability, protection of territories and biodiversity: these were the main themes addressed during the evening by the two speakers.

Respect and common sense is the message that was at the center of the meeting. Starting from the modification on the certainty of the right to hunt which, as the Honorable Bruzzone well explained “gives the individual Regions the opportunity to independently regulate the hunting calendar and to do so by law so as not to always be subject to appeals to the TAR which block hunting activity in exchange for the payments of the hunters”.

But also “recognition of the great work undertaken in the area to contain wildlife” as underlined several times by the Honorable Patelli, bearer of the demands of a national association that has always been committed to the protection of the environment and the territory.

The debate was also an opportunity to better understand the imbalances caused by wolves on wildlife and, in general, on livestock and domestic animals. “Hunters are not interested in hunting wolves – the Honorable Bruzzone explained well – The problem is that wolves are becoming more and more confident and are creating imbalances in the wildlife and agro-pastoral world of our country.”

Beyond what often happens when the hunting issue comes to the agenda in public debate, too often polarized into two opposite orientations, the abolition of hunting and the defense of hunting to the point of poaching, last night we were able witness a 360° debate that has restored dignity to this world, making it the protagonist of a complexity of ecosystems. – commented Guido Dellarovere, President of the Piedmont Region Hunting Federation – Compared to 1992sWe are faced with problems that now involve health and public order, but also the protection of pastures and agriculture. Sustainable and regulated hunting can, in this context, only bring benefits to the preservation of the entire eco-system and biodiversity.” (Press office of the Italian Hunting Federation of the Piedmont Region)
