It takes place entirely a few tens of kilometres south of Etna the splendid Randonnée by Misterbianco, a new entry for the Audax patent family. It’s scheduled Sunday 5 Maywith the possibility of choosing between two routesof 200 and 100 kilometers respectively.

Departure (7-8 am, Piazza Sandro Pertini) and arrival are at Misterbianco, a small town west of Catania, which was destroyed in 1669 by the historic terrible eruption of Etna. The route crosses much of the Catania Plain, one of the most fertile plains in the entire Mediterranean area. Rich in wheat fields and citrus groves, the area is fragrant and inebriating in mid-spring, with the characteristic Orange flowers.

Although not reaching very high altitudes, the long route has a total height difference of 2,323 metres. A lot easier the short one, whose height difference is limited to 687 metres. For both routes the participation fee is 10 euros, online by May 3rd. For those who register on site on Sunday morning the fee goes to 20 euros. There are four intermediate control points, one of which with refreshment.
