Primark announces the opening of its second store in Turin

Primarkthe international fashion retailer, will officially open the doors of its second store in Turin on Thursday 9 May. Located in the recently expanded ‘To Dream’ urban district, this new store will represent the 16th Primark store in Italy and 443rd globally. Furthermore, the opening of the new Turin store will create 150 new job opportunities.

With a commercial surface area of over 4,500 square meters on one level, the new store will offer the fantastic in-store experience that Primark is known and loved for. Primark customers who visit the store within ‘To Dream’ will be able to purchase the latest fashion trends, as well as basic everyday items from the clothing, beauty and homewares departments.

Furthermore, there will be an absolute novelty for Primark in Italy: this new store will be the first Primark Italia store equipped with self-service checkouts. The store will in fact have 17 self-service checkouts, in addition to the traditional checkouts. In this way, customers who have little time or make their purchases by card will be able to finalize their purchases independently at the vending machines.

In parallel, Primark is committed to offering more sustainable and accessible products to all. Currently, in fact, 55% of Primark clothing is made using recycled materials or from more sustainable sources, but the company has already committed to reaching the goal of 100% by 2030.

Luca Ciuffreda, Head of Primark Italy, declared: “We are thrilled to inaugurate our second store in Turin, precisely within the ‘To Dream’ urban district. Primark is already very popular in Turin and we are happy to be able to reach more and more customers with this new opening. But that’s not all, we’re just getting started: our new store in Turin is part of Primark’s wider expansion plan in Italy, where we will soon reach a total of 20 stores. At Primark we pride ourselves on offering something for everyone and we know our new customers will love our range of affordable fashion and basics.”.

Marcella Turco, Shopping Center Manager To Dream, said: “’To Dream’ is a project of regeneration and rooting in the territory, and we are thrilled that a brand so popular among young people and families has chosen to expand its presence here. We are certain that this choice is in perfect harmony with our commitment to the territory and with the diversified commercial offer that this place offers, not only for the city of Turin, but also on an interregional scale. We are therefore very satisfied with this decision”.

Last year Primark confirmed its commitment to Italy by announcing a investment of 50 million euros. Primark will in fact open 5 new stores, bringing its total presence in the country to 20 stores, thus creating 600 new jobs.

Primark has also unveiled its new website for Italian customers, with the aim of better connecting the online product search experience and in-store shopping. In detail, the site allows you to view thousands of products from Primark’s best-selling lines, as well as a new feature that allows customers to check the actual availability in stock of the desired size before going to the nearest Primark store.

Finally, earlier this week, Primark announced that it will reduce the prices of hundreds of basic children’s clothing and accessories this summer, further confirming its commitment to keeping children’s clothing prices affordable.
