Cesena, 28 April 2024. Official celebrations for Cesena after winning first place in group B of Serie C NOW.
The president of Lega Pro, Matteo Maranitogether with the Secretary General Emanuele Paoluccirewarded the Romagna club, which was finally able to raise the trophy to the sky in front of its fans after the victory of “Manuzzi” against Perugia (2-0 result, Prestia and Corazza scoring).
“We are very happy, as Serie C NOW, to be here to celebrate Cesena on what is a historic day. This success carries with it a very broad meaning: it is the success of the young people, of the boys from the youth team. In the history of Cesena young people represent an identifying element, as in the historic promotion with Osvaldo Bagnoli and a very young Massimo Bonini. Once again, focusing on them was the key to playing an extraordinary championship. The Lega Pro has already demonstrated its desire to encourage production of talents starting from the youth sectors and, thanks to the Zola Reform and the new rules on playing time, the bonuses for the clubs will double. That of the young people is our mission and we will continue on this path the players deserve my thanks and my compliments for a promotion that has great value for all of Italian football” – these are the statements released by president Matteo Marani in the press conference.
