“I’m very worried about him.” Matteo Renzi was interviewed by Paolo Del Debbio in the Sunday 28 April episode of Dritto e roescio, the Rete 4 programme, where in addition to political topics he also touched on the affair linked to the PD parliamentarian, Piero Fassino. As is known, the former mayor of Turin was reported for the alleged attempt to steal a perfume worth one hundred euros in the duty free of Terminal 1 of Fiumicino airport. At least two other similar cases emerged from the information provided by the Polaria police. “I don’t do trials in the newspapers. If things really are as they are told; that is, that on more than one occasion, that story happened, I believe that Piero Fassino should be helped by someone who loves him”, states the leader of Italia Viva”.
The former secretary of the Democratic Party explains: “Because I am very worried about him, he is not the Piero Fassino we knew. I hope that what emerged from the newspaper story is not true”, Renzi continues, “however, if things are like this, I feel like saying that anyone who loves him should help him, because these things are clearly a sign of an illness, otherwise I can’t explain it.”
