Campobasso tears Chieti to pieces, L’Aquila draws: it’s Serie C!
The dream becomes reality: the rossoblù conquer Angelini in the second half with goals from Romero and Di Nardo. Cappellacci’s Abruzzo team didn’t go beyond 0-0. The party explodes.
Campobasso returns to Serie C two years after that cursed summer which ousted the Wolves from the Lega Pro. 2-0 against Chieti with the push of 500 fans and that of thousands of Campobasso fans in front of the giant screen in Selvapiana and the televisions of half of Italy. Romero and Di Nardo achieved the feat in the second half and the dream became reality.
In the first fifteen minutes there is an assault by the rossoblù who immediately want to set the record straight. Romero calls on Serra to save the corner, then Parisi’s shot passes a few centimeters from the post and Gonzalez’s header is rejected at the last moment by the home defence. The Theatines show up on the corner with Esposito who heads the ball from two steps away.

In the second half Chieti created an important opportunity but found Molise’s response first with Romero who headed up the ball and then above all with Lombari who hit the crossbar. At half time the advantage arrives: Gonzalez flies to the left, crosses to the center Romero scores with confidence on a difficult ball. And with four to go, all of Campobasso explodes due to Di Nardo’s goal that puts the game on ice.
