The words of the two coaches, Tom Bialasezwski from Varese and Frank Vitucci from Treviso, after their clash in the twenty-ninth round of the LBA:
TOM BIALASEZWSKI:
«I am disappointed with the result and the performance. From the first half our opponents had more desire than us to bring home the victory. Rebounds were a problem again tonight, as has happened to us other times this season. We managed to score 95 points at home and when you have this type of performance in attack you have to find a way to bring the game home.”
FRANK VITUCCI:
“Today we knew that victory was essential, although it is not pleasant to admit it. Being master of your own destiny is fundamental; we prefer to rely on our abilities rather than the misfortune of others. We showed skill, especially in the first half, and effectively resisted the opponent’s comeback in the third quarter. Playing here presents unique challenges due to the opponent’s unusual style, which dictates high pace of play. We were competent in attack, finding valid solutions and maintaining a certain composure, crucial to controlling the pace of the match, a difficult task against this opponent. Although a ten point lead may seem safe, with them a couple of actions are enough to see the gap narrow drastically. The match was exhausting, but we showed character and personality, which are indispensable and urgent. Now we will focus on Sunday’s match.”
