SERIES B – 35th DAY REPORT
Modena wins with a goal from the former
On the 16th matchday of the return leg, Mr. Valente’s team narrowly lost on Braglia’s pitch: Zaro’s goal midway through the second half was the decisive factor: an episode in a closed match, with two excellent visitors’ chances in the first half
FC Südtirol narrowly lost 1-0 (0-0 at half-time) with a goal from the former Zaro on the Modena pitch at the Alberto Braglia Stadium. The match between the home team from Emilia, led by the recent former Pierpaolo Bisoli, and the red and whites of mister Federico Valente, valid for the 35th matchday, 16th of the return round with an asymmetrical calendar of the 2023-2024 BKT Series championship, coincides with the FC Südtirol’s eighteenth away match of the season.
Tactical match, closed, balanced, with some clearer offensive action from the red and white side in the first part of the match. The home goalkeeper Gagno made two prodigious clearances. The one who broke the balance was the former Zaro, with a precise header in the melee in the 22nd minute of the second half on a ball kicked from the right flag by Battistella.
First half. 3′ verticalization for Palumbo, conclusion from the edge wide on the bottom to the left of Poluzzi. 13′ dangerous guests: Tait feeds Molina at the right top of the home area, assists for the right-footed turn, half-height volley by Casiraghi, instinctively blocked by Gagno. 30′ precise and angled free kick from the edge by Casiraghi with Gagno flying to the left and neutralizing. 34′: Molina’s cross from the right, ball into the area on the left where Davi tries a scissors kick on the fly with no effect. 45’+1′ tense and calibrated cross from Battistella, Magnino just doesn’t get there.
Second half. Tait serves in the middle from the right in the 5th minute, Molina fails to volley the shot. Modena advantage in the 22nd minute: second corner in a row, Battistella kicks from the right, a ball in the melee for the head of the Zaro tower, who pushes Odogwu and scores the former’s goal, 1-0. 40′ Molina tries with a conclusion from the left-handed midfield, the ball just flies over the crossbar. The final assault of the red and whites was in vain.
