Inter-Turin has entered the history of Serie A. For the first time, in fact, a match in the Italian top flight was directed by one completely feminine triplet. Maria Sole Ferrieri Caputi she was the referee of the match, assisted by the assistants Francesca Di Monte and Tiziana Trasciatti. The choice of The Hague did not go unnoticed by the FIFA president, Gianni Infantino.

Infantino commented on the designation through a post published on Instagram: “It was great seeing an all-female referee team officiating a Serie A match for the first time. Congratulations to the referee Maria Sole Ferrieri Caputi and the assistants Francesca Di Monte and Tiziana Trasciatti for having refereed the match between Inter and Torino. I hope yours designations are the first of many!”.
