SOMMA LOMBARDO – Green light from the Superintendency for the redevelopment project of the Aielli Legacy. Thus the planned process begins again the demolition and reconstruction from scratch of the Mezzana buildingwith the aim of creating a real social hub that will change the face of the hamlet of Somma Lombardo.
We start again after the stop
The revival of the Aielli Legacy had been held back by the Superintendency, which asked for «planning more closely related to the historical fabric and buildingsat the reduction of volumetric masses and to the establishment, also through the protection of existing plant essences, of mitigation elements». And after having made the required adjustments, the OK also came from the body that protects and enhances cultural and landscape assets. This was announced on mayor Stefano Bellaria during the last interview in the TV studios of Malpensa24: «The green light has finally arrived for the redevelopment of a place that is relevant for all the people of Somme, mainly for those who live in Mezzana». But above all, he said, it is a project «absolutely important from a social point of view».
The new Aielli Legacy
Bellaria in fact recalled the objectives and activities that will be hosted in the new structure. One part involves the creation of a community for the “After us”, to which they will be destined eight apartments for people in difficulty of the association “To Go Further”. The other part will instead be dedicated to a Solidarity Emporium to be entrusted to Caritas: a place that has the same characteristics as a supermarket, but with controlled prices for the segment of the population that needs financial support. Then there will be one multipurpose space, including a civic hall and clinics. But also external areas, where they will be built parking and green spacesin addition to the primary urbanizations functional to the two buildings.
