Francesco Bagnaia’s words at the end of the match

On a circuit where everyone is fast you did one of your best races. Tell us about it “The most important thing was the first lap and be able to pass. I managed it on the outside in turn six. I pushed to follow the riders in the lead. Jorge Martin made a mistake by hitting the brakes too hard in turn six. I enjoyed it though every time you fight with Marc you have to be aggressive. It’s nice to race on this circuit. Thanks to all the fans.”

The words of Francesco Bagnaia to the microphones of Sky Italia

“The race was decided very much on the first lap. I managed to get away immediately. I had a score to settle with Thailand since last year. I had tried with Martin but the overtaking wasn’t successful. I tried again today and it succeeded.”

Can you say it was the best race of my life? “It was very good but so were Jerez last year and Mugello 2022. But it’s definitely in the top 5. Marc would surely have come to pick me up therefore I took it easy and only pushed in the final laps.”

After today I will be indebted to you for life. “In my opinion you have already given. we’re even” replied to Valentino Rossi.

Did you like doing the fastest lap more, the overtaking at six or the crossing with Marquez? “First of all the overtaking on the outside, then the battle with Marc Marquez and after that the fastest lap”.

You saw Martin go down. Have you thought maybe twenty points is enough? “When I saw him fall I started pushing and improved my times. With him in front I was struggling with the front tire and only after that did I start to go better. I told myself I had to stretch at least a second or a second and a half. After Marc passed I kept the same pace even though I knew I had more but at that stage it wouldn’t have helped anyway.”

To whom do you dedicate the victory? “I dedicate it to the team that needs it.”
