ROME (ITALPRESS) – Tommaso Brugnami framed a perfect European Championship by graduating as junior continental vice champion at the end of the all-around final. The talent from the Marche, in Rimini, after the complete tour on the six apparatus, climbs to the second step with the amazing total of 80.832, surrendering only to the Frenchman Anthony Mansard, who triumphed with a capital performance of 81.499 points. The new European champion managed to impose himself in the last rotation, the one on the bar, which allowed him to inherit the title of the Hungarian Botond Molnar, obtained in Monaco 2022. The 17-year-old, who in Italy wears the colors of the Youth Ancona, where he trains with his coach Fabrizio Marcotullio, at his side on the field of play at the Rimini Fair, thus achieving his fifth medal in this 36th edition of the continental event: two golds in the floor exercise and rings finals and three silvers with the team, on vault and the latter in the all-around competition.
Congratulations also to the other Italian involved in the individual all-around final, Manuel Berettara, who finished his race in 9th place with a total of 77.630, placing himself in the European top ten among the best performers of his age. The Artistica Brescia gymnast, followed by his coach Pietro Matis Bani, can say he is more than satisfied with today’s performance, which came after the bronze medal in the barre final.
The national youth team, led by manager Nicola Costa and completed by gymnasts Diego Vazzola, Pietro Mazzola and Simone Speranza and coach Corrado Corti, is celebrating a more than positive European Championship. The six overall podiums improve the result of the Italians in the medal table of the German edition two years ago.
