Cremona Sera – Zanacchi: “Does Portesani know about Cremona’s long tradition in inclusive sports activities?”

The councilor intervenes Luca Zanacchi after the Forza Italia conference.

Reading Portesani’s statements on the sidelines of the Forza Italia conference on sport and disability, questions arise about how much the CDX mayoral candidate knows the city and the many activities that have also developed over time in a sporting context. It is increasingly clear that “News in Cremona” for Portesani is actually “Cremona is the news”. The city has a long tradition of inclusive activities and over time the Administration has structured various projects to support them. Last in order of time “Sports diversity” which saw the structuring and economic support of Paralympic activities in various sports and which attracted dozens of new athletes. The many sports organizations involved know this very well and, coincidentally, were not present at the conference or even at the meeting a few days earlier in the Zanoni room. What can we say about the events organized over time such as the Amputee Football Super Cup and before that the event dedicated to the Paralympic bowls held in Cremona from which the sporting activities now practiced even by one of its candidates were born? The list is long, those who experience city sport are aware of it! Short memory and poor knowledge of the city, as already certified on many other city issues. We make our own the frustration of those who over time have become protagonists of many activities in favor of disabilities, of the sports associations that have always worked with the Administration and of the many volunteers who today feel offended by Portesani’s words. That Portesani who, while promising everyone the impossible (let’s not forget the latest amazing and crazy proposal from one of his candidates to build a new sports hall in the Tamoil area), doesn’t know that there is a city that has always worked with institutions to develop sports projects. That Portesani “former” social entrepreneur who, while promising welfare reforms and sports inclusion, is supported by a party that is running for the European elections a person who supports the separation of disabled people from “able-bodied” people…oddities and oddities of a center right confused, disoriented, divided and little aware of what has been achieved in our city over time. While waiting for the next slip-up which is slowly becoming a bad downhill run, we remain close to the sporting realities and to those who over time have worked in favor of real inclusion. We will continue to work with them to improve services and to involve more and more citizens in sporting activities.”
