LIVORNO. Tragedy around 1.30 am on the night between Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April in the city centre, in There vorno . The corpse of a man it was found in a ditch between Piazza della Repubblica and Viale degli Avvalorati.
The victim
It would be a forty-seven years old Moroccan, even if the Carabinieri of the Livorno Company, who promptly intervened in the area after the 112 alarm, are checking whether the victim actually corresponds to the documents he had in his pocket.
The discovery
The body was on the surface and was recovered by the firefighters, who intervened with the nautical team from the port detachment of the Darsena ports. An SVS ambulance is also on site with a doctor on board and the military personnel are investigating to reconstruct what happened.
The hypothesis
From an initial reconstruction without the man having previously been seen drunk in the area, but it is a dynamic still being examined by the judicial authorities. He could therefore have slipped into the ditches and drowned. The body was then removed from the Misericordia funeral home in Via Verdi upon order of the prosecutor’s office and currently remains seized at the Lupi municipal cemetery.
