RAVENNA – For years he had been waiting for those fields, a family inheritance, to be buildable to build his dream house, with the agricultural lots transformed into an immense courtyard. But his life project, quite advanced since the construction site of the house is at a good stage, is now threatened by a project also contested by a large part of the Porto Fuori community: the link road which in the future should connect to the Classicana, leaving the other part of the project to an indefinite future. At the moment, however, the project only involves the connection between via Bonifica and via Staggi. The road would pass right through the fields owned by his family, leaving a 300 meter strip beyond the road. But what’s worse is that the oasis of peace surrounded by vegetable gardens that he dreamed of is now threatened by future car and truck traffic with a consequent drop in the value of the property.
He is Fabrizio Bazzani, 42 years old, who began his battle against the brace with a video on Youtube and an Instagram page (Iodiconobretella) which in a couple of days has already gathered dozens of “followers”. In an appeal to the mayor, Bazzani explains his situation, starting from the story of the agricultural land that his parents have been trying to make buildable for thirty years. Result achieved only a few years ago. «I am building my house on this land», explains the citizen of Porto Fuori. The land, in via Vasco Presentati, is in a residential but quiet area. «I know there was the idea of building a road – explains Bazzani – but I thought it was “dormant” until the project was approved», It is a compensatory work carried out as part of the extensive urbanization of the area east of Porto Fuori, also the highly contested one.
The link road, however, was also rejected by the Darsena territorial council and many in the town say they are worried, so much so that a petition was even started: in fact, there is a fear that it will increase traffic rather than improve the situation of the locality but above all the overbuilding of the roads is criticized. agricultural fields. «Mezzano doesn’t have a circulation system, Ravenna doesn’t even have it and they are places that need it much more than Porto Fuori», says Bazzani. Who now finds himself with an expropriation notice in hand. «The road would pass 40 meters from my house and through the fields owned by my family, making a large part of it effectively unusable, being on the other side of the road. I fear that once this road, which is so wide, has been built, we will decide to further subdivide it. This road has no public interest: it dissatisfies those who have vegetable gardens, traders, residents and will increase noise in the town.” Now the 42-year-old’s goal is for the Municipality to rethink it, also following his protest which “I hope other owners will join, because now is the time to move”.
