Organizational conference – 28 Apr 2024

Monday 29 April 2024, at 10.30 am, in the Istituto Stomeo-Zimbalo conference room (via Siracusa)

The project promoted by the APS “La Svolta”, financed under the “Puglia Capitale Sociale 3.0” tender of the Puglia Region, will be presented on Monday 29 April 2024, starting from 10.30 am, in the conference room of the Stomeo Zimbalo Comprehensive Institute of Lecce. . Speakers will include Maria Elisabetta Tundo, head teacher of the Stomeo-Zimbalo Comprehensive Institute, Martina Gentile, president of the APS “La Svola”, Anna Kitlas, of the 167 B-Street collective, Andrea Ferreri, of the B-Fake association, and Maria Teresa Capone, school director of the “Vincenzo Ampolo” educational club in Surbo.

“The project – explains Gentile – will see the activation of three laboratories, with the aim of bringing together different generations and promoting free time and the regeneration of shared spaces in the city of Lecce and Surbo. We thought of three initiatives, starting from some instances that we have detected during these years of activity and seizing some opportunities that we had had the opportunity to evaluate positively for the human and civil growth of communities, such as street art interventions in degraded or peripherals. In fact, we will have a computer literacy laboratory, intended for adults and the elderly, in which we will involve children as tutors, two STEM courses, one set up at the educational club Vincenzo Ampolo of Surbo, the other at the Institute Stomeo Zimbalo of Lecce. A third laboratory is also planned, again divided between the two realities, for the practice of urban arts, which will involve the artists of the 167 B-street collective”.

“It will certainly be a beautiful experience – continues the president of the Aps – and we are ready to confirm for this year too the campus of our association for children up to 11 years old: a way to meet families and their needs, working for a more inclusive community that knows how to fight against juvenile deviance and educational poverty. Furthermore, through street art we will involve young people, speaking a language close to their code”. (red.)
