Matteo Salvini
On Friday 3 May the Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini in the Brut e Bon room in Piazza Dompè to discuss with the top leaders of Anas the isolation of the province of Cuneo and the solutions to connect it with Liguria and Asti
As you will remember, some time ago the mayor of Cuneo Patrizia Manassero he had invited the vice-president of the Council and minister of infrastructure and transport Matteo Salvini in the capital to submit questions relating to the mobility (or rather the isolation) of the Province. «We invite you, Minister, to consider this corner of Italy which borders France and which has been forced into isolation for too long. Cuneo has been isolated since 2020 due to the interruption of the Colle di Tenda road following storm Alex. The railway connection, Cuneo-Ventimiglia, the only remaining possibility, has been reduced to a bare minimum, with routes which in terms of number, time, reliability and type of service are absolutely inadequate to the needs of inhabitants and tourists. You will realize – he concluded – that You will need adequate time in your diary to reach this provincial capital. Once here, I ask you to kindly set aside equally adequate time to address the many urgent issues that I have exposed to you.”
Matteo Salvini will be in Fossano in the Brut e Bon room in Piazza Dompè on Friday 3 May to participate in a conference organized by Anas entitled “Roads and mobility, Piedmont connects with the future”. The deputy minister accompanied him Edoardo Rixithe president of the Piedmont region Alberto Ciriothe CEO of Anas Aldo Isi and the president of Anas Edoardo Valente. The president of the Province will certainly receive it Luca Robaldo and the mayor of the city Dario Tallone but the mayor of Cuneo will also be present.
As well as “connection with the future”it will finally become clear what are the completion times for the works on the road to France and Liguria, considering that the current timetable officially provides for an alternating direction opening (with traffic lights) in June 2024 but many rumors claim that this date will not be respected. But we will also have to talk about the A33 Asti-Cuneo motorway (there is a five kilometer section missing and no one makes any promises anymore even if there are upcoming elections). Not to mention Colle di Nava which in these days sees long queues, or of Armo-Cantarana tunnelnow on paper since the pilot hole was drilled in 1992.
