But what’s worse, she had to climb a mountain of mud: for days she was on everyone’s lips, in the area where she lived, referred to as “the one in the video” or “the one in the gym”, to the point that she was forced to leave their home, abandon Naples and flee to the north in search of anonymity. In a few seconds, she was overwhelmed by a wave of poisons, in a scenario that is now at the center of a probable criminal trial. A young Neapolitan woman, indicated by the, tells her story to Il Mattino Nola Prosecutor’s Office (pm Onte) as the offended party in an investigation into revenge porn, the media pillory imposed after the dissemination of intimate images recorded during a sexual relationship. In this case, images were stolen (unbeknownst to the girl herself), transmitted from one cell phone to another until they ended up on a social channel and were even reproduced on TikTok. A nightmare, life-changing stuff.
The tests
In fact, the Nola Prosecutor’s Office recently decided to issue a notice of closed investigation against a man believed to be responsible for the diffusion of the hot video. An affair that dates back to two years ago, which allegedly took place inside a gym in the Vesuvian area, which was frequented by the young woman at the time. In summary, “Jade” (fictitious name) allegedly had sexual intercourse with an athletic instructor, a personal trainer, in the time slot in which the facility was not yet open to the public. Nothing illicit, the two protagonists of this story were adults and fully consenting. It is a flirtation that takes place around six in the morning, in a scenario that does not suggest any type of violence or mutual resentment. Yet, in the life of “Giada”, a few hours later all hell breaks loose. A nightmare that is told to Il Mattino by the same offended party, today that the Prosecutor’s Office is led by Marco Del Gaudio filed the documents in view of a probable request for the indictment of the alleged person responsible for publishing the video. Defense by the Neapolitan criminal lawyer Esther Lettieri, the woman makes a premise: «What I have suffered in recent years I do not wish on anyone. If I have decided to tell my experience, in light of the recent conclusion of the investigations, it is only to protect those who – especially among the younger ones – risk seeing their existence destroyed due to someone’s irresponsibility. Today I learned firsthand what he felt Tiziana Cantone, the woman who committed suicide in 2016 when faced with the unauthorized dissemination of intimate videos. And if I resisted the temptation to end it, I owe it to the strength that my family and my lawyer gave me.” The man in the video, the personal trainer indicated as responsible for the diffusion of the images, is accused today. Like a virus that passes from mouth to mouth, it attacks my life. Atrocious. To the point that I was forced to leave the area where I live, to move away from Naples.” Meanwhile, the mud vortex is only just beginning. Two years later, the Prosecutor’s Office follows a lead, in light of the notice of closed investigation notified to the main suspect: illicit diffusion of sexually explicit images or videos, pursuant to Article 612 Ter which was introduced right after Tiziana’s drama Canton.
