He was working with the tractor in his vast lands surrounding the Apollinare farm in Montenovo di Montiano. The vehicle overturned, crushing him with its enormous weight and the farmer is now hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Maurizio Bufalini hospital in Cesena.
The accident that occurred to GS, a 78-year-old from Montiano, dates back to late yesterday afternoon. Around 6.30pm, 118 ambulances and fire brigades were called in unison to help in the area close to the farmhouse surrounded by fields and hills in the Via Cesarolo area.
Among the first to notice what happened was the 78-year-old’s partner. For reasons that will have to be reconstructed in detail, suddenly the vehicle driven by the 78-year-old overturned, crushing the man. When the 118 health workers arrived on site, the farmer was not fatally trapped under the vehicle. But the chest trauma he had suffered meant that he had to be transported with the utmost urgency to Bufalini, where he arrived in pain but conscious. Then the tests carried out in the emergency room highlighted serious injuries to the point that the door of the operating block of the Cesena hospital opened for him. He is now hospitalized with a reserved prognosis in the Bufalini intensive care unit.
