The activity of the State Police in the city, intensified on the occasion of the April 25 long weekend, did not reveal any irregularities.
Novara, the police checked 179 people, 25 cars and 9 premises in one evening
On the evening of Friday 26 April, on the occasion of the long weekend, the State Police of Novara, specifically the Administrative Squad and the Flying Squad of the Police Headquarters, together with the Railway Police and the Local Police, intensified their activity, carrying out a series of checks of some commercial businesses and areas reported by exhibits between the Piazza Garibaldi station area, also including trains returning commuters, as well as the city centre.
The area affected by the operations
Specifically, checks were carried out on the premises in via San Francesco D’Assisi, Piazza Martiri, via XX Settembre and inside the Allea park. From the outcome of the activities, 179 people were checked (of which 45 foreigners), 24 cars and 9 commercial establishments including bars, VLT lounges and public entertainment venues frequented mainly by young people who had just turned 18 and/or were minors.
No irregularities were highlighted
During the ritual checks and controls, including regarding licenses and authorisations, no irregularities were highlighted. The activity carried out on Friday evening is part of a series of administrative checks already started last Friday, also in the province and always on nightclubs (from which two managers of betting shops and VLTs were sanctioned), in order to guarantee in preventatively provide greater safety for the nightlife and at the same time warn the managers of commercial establishments who do not respect the rules.
