The training and refresher conference aimed at all school staff will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 from 8.30 am to 1.30 pm, at the Auditorium of the “Da Vinci” high school in Bisceglie (BT), via Cala dell’Arciprete, 1. by title “Where does the school go? Peace Education Courses“, an event included in the program of the first edition of theEirenefest, the Book Festival for peace and non-violencesponsored by the Municipality of Bisceglie (here is the program of the Eirenefest in Bisceglie).

The conference is organized by CESP (Study Center for Public Schools) in collaboration with the union COBAS Molfetta School, Observatory against the militarization of schools and universities, Regional observatory on neo-fascism And Nonviolent Movement Puglia and has the aim of promoting a culture of peace, non-violent and solidarity in the face of the winds of war that infest the entire world. The Conference also aims to denounce the process of militarization of our territories starting from the place dedicated to the formation of young consciences, that is, the School.

The work of the Conference will be opened and coordinated by Michele Luciverojournalist, teacher of Philosophy and History at the “Da Vinci” high school in Bisceglie, promoter of the Eirenefest in Bisceglie together with other associations and member of the provincial executive of Cobas Scuola Bari. Among the speakers there will be mgr. Giovanni Ricchiuti, National President of Pax Christi Italy, Antonio Mazzeojournalist, teacher and Peace Researcher, author of the book “The school goes to war. investigation into the militarization of schools in Italy“, published by Manifestolibri, Antonella Morga of theRegional observatory on neo-fascism And Gabriella Falcicchioprofessor of pedagogy at the University of Bari and contact person for the Nonviolent Movement Puglia.

CESP is recognized by the MIUR as a TRAINING BODY (DM 869/2006 and DM 170/2016), since 2001 it has carried out updating and training activities, with courses, conferences and publications for all public school workers, for which, in compliance to the art. 64, paragraphs 4, 5 and 7 of the 2006/2009 CCNL, school staff are exempt from service for participating in its initiatives.
The conference is open to all citizens and is free.
