Car sharing arrives in Ragusa

Thanks to the partnership between KINTO, a global brand of the Toyota Group dedicated to mobility services, in collaboration with the Toyota dealer TD Car and in agreement with the Municipality of Ragusa, the first car sharing service arrives in the city with an electrified Toyota fleet equipped with Full Hybrid technology. Three sampling stations are planned.

Four pickup stations, fifteen cars and all the convenience of a car shared for a few hours or entire days: the new car sharing service arrives in Ragusa through the partnership signed between the Municipality of Ragusa, KINTO, the group’s mobility brand Toyota and your local TD Car dealer. The project, promoted by the Municipality of Ragusa, represents an important step forward towards more innovative and sustainable mobility.

KINTO Share is a 100% digital car sharing service, which allows you to easily book the most suitable car through the appropriate app and manage operations via your smartphone, making citizens’ movements more sustainable through a fleet of cars equipped with the most modern electrified technologies, such as Full Hybrid which allows you to travel in zero emissions mode for over 50% of the time.

KINTO Share, in the city of Ragusa, provides a fleet of 15 Toyota Yaris Hybrid cars at 3 dedicated and free pick-up and drop-off stations located in the city areas of Ragusa Ibla and Ragusa Centro, as well as in the town of Marina di Ragusa. The same cars can also be picked up and returned to the Toyota TD Car dealer’s premises. It will be possible to book the cars of the KINTO Share service for a few hours or for the whole day, with convenient and flexible all-inclusive rates (insurance, fuel, roadside assistance and 24-hour call centre). For users who register on the app it will also be possible to use the KINTO Share service also on the rest of the national territory, thanks to the presence of a fleet of more than 300 vehicles at 139 collection stations in 13 Regions and 33 Provinces.

«Sharing a car today means optimizing time and costs – this is how the mayor Giuseppe Cassì announces the new service -. Ragusa, like most European cities, finally has its own car sharing service. A convenience for the people of Ragusa; an advantage for university students, who will have a dedicated rate; an additional opportunity for tourists who will be able to move from one part of a very vast and complex tourist destination like ours to another, from the sea to the city, simply by downloading an app”.

«Looking at mobility means having a broad perspective. Taking into account not only the streets and areas, but also the flows, the different user targets, the poles of interest of those who live in the city and those who visit it is important – underlines the councilor for Mobility, Giovanni Gurrieri -. While Ragusa prepares for a new local public transport, which for the first time in the last 50 years changes operator by increasing the lines and renewing vehicles and signs, the car sharing service immediately offers fundamental flexibility from an integrated system perspective. We are convinced that mobility services like this can encourage residential living in areas with parking difficulties such as the Center and Ibla, the attractiveness towards non-resident students, the tourist offer”.

«The launch of KINTO Share in Ragusa represents a further step towards realizing our goal of guaranteeing “Mobility for all” – declares Vincent Van Acker, Service Design & User Experience Director of KINTO Italia -. I would like to thank the Municipality of Ragusa for choosing us as Mobility Partner and the Toyota TD Car dealer for the significant contribution resulting from careful monitoring of the territory. In this way we reiterate KINTO’s objective of being a Mobility Provider which, also in collaboration with Local Administrations, is able to satisfy all travel needs, to improve the quality of life of citizens but also to contribute to the well-being of the society through a mobility model that allows everyone to move safely and without barriers, respecting the environment and leaving no one behind”.

«Today is an important day for the city of Ragusa and we are proud to be protagonists together with KINTO and the Municipality of Ragusa which I thank for their collaboration.- underlines Alessandra Distefano, Finance & Insurance Manager, as well as a partner of TD Car – Launching KINTO share in the city where our company was born 26 years ago, affirms the evolution of TD Car from car dealer to mobility service manager. We are confident that, through this initiative, we will be able to facilitate the mobility of all people from Ragusa and beyond.”
