Fear in the night in Croviana, in Val di Non, where a man was found lying on the ground with several bruises and wounds on his body. The call to Single emergency number 112 arrived just before 2am yesterday, Saturday 27 April. According to initial reconstructions, the events occurred during the San Giorgio festival, set up inside the gym of the town’s primary school. It is precisely here that the 41-year-old from Cles, victim of the beating, approached two young twenty-year-olds living in the area. According to what has been reconstructed so far, the man directed harsh comments and unwanted attention towards the two girls. From here a quarrel would have arisen, which soon degenerated into a real assault. In fact, the two twenty-year-olds reacted by hitting the 41-year-old who had annoyed them. During the struggle the man was apparently pushed to the ground and hit repeatedly. Only the intervention of other people allowed calm to be restored to the gym. The 41-year-old, who may have drunk too much alcohol during the party, was then helped to get up and accompanied outside the structure. However, walking away with a staggering gait he would have fallen to the ground, hitting his head violently on the asphalt.
Hospitalized in serious condition
When the 41-year-old was found lying on the ground near the primary school he was already unconscious. The health workers and the police then intervened on site. The man’s condition immediately appeared very serious, Precisely for this reason the intervention of the air ambulance was requested from Trento. In the meantime, the Croviana firefighters made the area safe, allowing the helicopter with the emergency medical team on board to land. The 41-year-old was stabilized and put on stretchers before being airlifted under code red to the Santa Chiara hospital in Trento. The man, after falling into a coma, he is hospitalized in serious condition in the intensive care unit. The prognosis is guarded.
The investigations
In the meantime, the two twenty-year-olds have been reported on charges of injury. Both were interviewed by the Malè police who carried out the investigations. To retrace what happened, the military collected the testimonies of many people who were at the festival. The investigations are coordinated by the Trento Prosecutor’s Office, considering the serious conditions in which the 41-year-old finds himself it cannot be ruled out that the situation of the two young women could worsen. However, the soldiers of the Cles company are still working to reconstruct the story in detail. For its part, the municipal administration has suspended the festival.
