The 44-year-old multi-convict AA was released from prison and placed under house arrest, defended by the criminal lawyer Raffaele Meles of the Castrovillari Court, accused of aggravated robbery, threats and injuries committed in the province of Monza-Brianza between August and September 2023.
The decision arrived at the outcome of the hearing held before the Court of Monza last week during which the criminal lawyer, at the conclusion of his defense argument, requested and obtained the release of his client, detained at the Castrovillari prison, and the placement of the same with a relative residing in Cariati under house arrest with the simultaneous application of the electronic bracelet.
The man, already burdened by several criminal precedents for similar crimes committed throughout the national territory, was wanted by the Italian Police as the recipient of an order for the application of a precautionary measure in prison since, during the last robbery, he had been recognized by the victim and identified through mug shots already in possession of the police. Once the investigations were opened, it was also learned that in the same period the man had been responsible for other serious episodes which would have seen him threaten the death of the owner of a shop in order to have money delivered – failing to do so in as some present had alerted the police – as well as damaging the car of an acquaintance following an altercation.
All the victims recognized him as responsible for the alleged facts. Hence the order issued by the GIP of the Court of Monza while in the meantime, probably to avoid arrest, the 44-year-old had gone to a relative in Cariati. It is here that, at the end of November 2023, the soldiers of the Carabinieri found him and, in execution of the precautionary custody order, they had transferred him to the Castrovillari prison where he was detained until last week, when the investigating judge of Monza, in full acceptance of the requests of the lawyer Raffaele Meles, ordered him to be placed under house arrest with the application of an electronic bracelet.
