The snow level is expected to be around 1500-1700 m on the Alpine sectors during the most intense phase of the disturbance, with heavy snowfalls above 2000 m on the Val d’Ossola mountains, while on the Apennines the phenomena will be rain. Avalanche danger 4 Strong at high altitude in the Grazie, Pennine and Lepontine Alps.

Given the expected conditions, the Arpa Piemonte Functional Center has issued yellow alert on north-eastern Piedmont (zones AB and I) for hydrogeological risk with possible local flooding and isolated phenomena on the slopes and on the Verbano (zone A) for avalanches which may locally affect the road system at the bottom of the valley.

A general improvement is expected from tomorrow afternoon, with precipitation easing and locally drying up, in a context that will however remain variable even at the beginning of next week, awaiting a new marked worsening which will affect our region at the end of Tuesday 30 April and for the entire day of May 1st.
