Three matches opened the Serie A2 play-outs with the entire ‘Board 1’ on the pitch, while ‘Board 2’ will be completed tomorrow evening with Game 1 between Velcofin Interlocks Vicenza and Tecnoengineering Moncalieri.

BOARD 1

Pallacanestro Vigarano beats Torino Teen Basket 59-76, reversing the field factor. The guests break the deadlock, but the hosts respond promptly, however the Ferrara team build a partial score of 0-11 which gives them the reins of the game; subsequently Vigarano grinds out points to reach +12, but Torino doesn’t want to let their opponents escape, so they find a break of 8-2 which halves the disadvantage (14-20). The guests monopolized the final part of the first quarter with another run that brought the score to 14-27 after 10′. The Piedmontese team moved to -6 by scoring points in the first 3′ of the second quarter, but were unable to further reduce the deficit and thus ended up slipping to -10 a few minutes later; Torino no longer finds the basket unless the clock is stopped, an assist for the guests who record the maximum advantage at 25-37 less than 120″ from the break. The reaction of the hosts arrives and with a 10-3 partial they manage to go to the locker room 35-40 down. Returning from the break, the two teams clearly increase the pace of play and this initially benefits Turin who moves to -3, but subsequently a clear partial of 3-12 in favor of the Ferrara team arrives, useful for going ahead by four full possessions; the Turin team try by every means to get out of this impasse, Vigarano promptly re-establishes the hierarchies before the home basket valid for 50-61 at half an hour. The guests know they have the game in their hands, but they have no problem recording another terrifying partial that puts them at +22 150″ from the final siren; the 7-2 break in favor of the Piedmontese only makes the deficit less bitter with the result reading 59-76 in the fortieth minute. Torino scores double figures with Giangrasso (16 points) and Cristelo Alves (10 points and 6 rebounds); for Vigarano, Siciliano’s incredible performance of 33 points and 7 rebounds stands out as always, in addition to Cutrupi’s usual ‘double-double’ of 14 points and 14 rebounds.

Basket Girls Ancona emerges victorious 57-64 from the trip to the Basket Roma pitch. The Capitolines dictate the pace of the match with a 5-0 break at the start, which however is countered by a 0-9 partial which allows the guests to take the lead; Roma takes the lead and overtakes thanks to another last shot, but the last inspiration comes from the Marches who score the score 11-13 at the end of the first ten minutes of the game. The hosts regain the lead with a 7-2 useful to take a full possession advantage, but Ancona cancels and counters going ahead at 20-25 (partial of 2-10); the Romans have a jolt to get back to -1, however the final words still belong to the Basket Girls who score a triple and close the first half at 24-28. In the initial minutes of the second half the guests managed to keep the initiatives of the Capitolines at bay, but they raised the engine revs and imposed their speed of play: in fact, first they overtook with a partial of 9-0, then – later to the Marche triple – they repeat themselves with another nine points in a row which are needed to reach 45-34 at the half hour mark. The last quarter is incredible with the roles being reversed compared to what was seen in the third period: Ancona is an uncontainable fury and writes a partial of 2-19 which brings them to two full possessions of the advantage; Roma tried a counter-offensive, stopping the bleeding, but the back-and-forth that animated the following minutes arrived with the clock stopped, giving the guests an advantage, who were then able to take home the victory with a score of 57-64. The hosts send Lucantoni (15 points and 5 rebounds), Fantini (13 points and 9 rebounds) and Leghissa (11 points and 9 rebounds) in double figures; the Marches are driven by an inspired Dinga-Mbomi (28 points with 5 triples and 3 steals), to which are added Barbakadze (8 points and 9 rebounds) and Pierdicca (7 points and 10 rebounds).

BOARD 2

Solmec Rhodigium Basket rules Dimensione Bagno Carugate with a score of 71-52. The Rodigines imposed themselves clearly for almost the entire first quarter, inflicting a 15-2 run that sent the game on their tracks; Carugate only momentarily stops the bleeding with a support, until Solmec closes the opening 10 minutes at 19-4. The Lombards recharged their batteries and mended most of the gap with a partial score of 2-10, but the hosts with a triple wrote the +10 with just over 5′ left until the interval; in the wake of what happened in the first quarter but with the roles reversed, Dimensione Bagno builds another partial (3-11) which helps them close 27-25 down after 20′ of play. The home team began the second half with an 11-2 run which was useful for taking a double-digit lead, the guests were not discouraged and got on the scoresheet with a series of goals in different areas of the pitch, which however were promptly canceled by Solmec; a support helps the Lombard team to score -9, but the last call still goes to the Venetian team who, with the clock stopped, close the half hour at 47-36. The 8-2 partial with which Rhodigium opens the first 180″ of the fourth period puts the match on ice, but Carugate still tries to give the hosts a hard time without ever letting go of the contest; with time running on the clock, the Venetians recorded the maximum advantage, rising to +20, a margin forced to increase in subsequent possessions until the four consecutive points scored by the Lombards, who said 71-52 at the end of the hostilities. The Solmec Rhodigium saw excellent performances from Battilotti (15 points, 8 rebounds and 5 steals), Viviani (14 points and 5 rebounds), Zanetti (9 points and 11 rebounds) and Masic (8 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists) ; for Dimensione Bagno no player in double figures, but Tarkovikova (9 points and 9 rebounds) and Albanelli (9 points and 5 rebounds) stand out.
