Amazing success for Napoli, the tenth away match of the season, which establishes the Azzurri’s definitive third place in the standings. Great show of strength from the Neapolitans who closed the first half with a resounding 0-4. In the second half, Pesaro deployed their goalkeeper for most of the time but Napoli, well positioned defensively, suffered numerical inferiority without any major danger. Considering the victory of L84 on the Genzano pitch, Feldi Eboli, champions of Italy, will be Napoli’s opponent in the quarter-finals of the play-offs. FIRST HALF
At 0’52” the first ring of the match goes to Napoli with Borruto: the Argentinian’s tip is intercepted with a super intervention by Putano. At 00’56” Napoli were ahead, following a corner Ercolessi coordinated perfectly on the fly and with his left foot he pierced the opposing goalkeeper. At 2’49” the Neapolitans double the lead: a deadly restart by the Azzurri led by Salas, the Paraguayan serves Duarte who, with a delicious touch, deceives Putano. From the first moments of the second half, Pesaro deployed Juan Fran as an outfield goalkeeper but only at 5’29, after a long possession, did the hosts become dangerous: with a splendid save, Bellobuono stopped Barichello’s shot. At 11’05”, to dampen Pesaro’s attack, Napoli introduces De Luca as an active goalkeeper, the same blue 7 comes close to the net with a lob that ends up just wide of the post. At 12’30” Bellobuono responds once again, with a safe clearance from Barichello’s right. At 14’11” Perugino was close to scoring a personal double, on a long ball from Salas the captain allowed himself to be hypnotized at the best moment by Putano. At 15’28” Juan Fran, still deployed as goalkeeper, closes the gap. At 19’14” the last chance for Pesaro with Schiochet but Bellobuono says no. The match ends 1-4.
