A series of plots that are difficult to unravel. The third day experienced by women’s futsal on a roller coaster. Except for Sardinia, already certain of a place, the other seven qualifiers for the quarter-finals struggled a lot to continue their journey to the TDR.

Group A – Campania emerged from the brawl and achieved their third success, a 2-1 in the direct clash with Umbria. Lombardo and Zoppo gave impetus to Iamunno’s team at the start of the second half. Acquafredda’s goal made the last minutes incandescent. Marche took advantage of this and took second place thanks to the eight goals scored against Basilicata. Cardone and Mariotti made the difference with two braces.

Group B – Veneto and Lazio risk a lot, they draw 1-1 but in the end they both advance to the quarter-finals. Chiaradia’s third goal in the tournament and Roma’s signature at the last minute put the seal on the match. Tuscany’s 3-0 success over Bolzano was nice but useless. Double from Tesi who leaves the TDR with four goals to his credit.

Group C – The least troubled group. Sardinia, with the quarterfinals already in their pocket, scored five goals against Sicily. Hat-trick for Virdis who already has five in the tournament. Molise and Liguria get hurt very badly, resulting in a 1-1 draw, thus seeing a more than probable qualification fade away. Gritti gave the Molise team the lead at the end of the first half. At the start of the second half Parrinello scored the equalizer, a result that never changed until the final whistle.

Group D – A direct clash for the top of the table, for a place in the quarter-finals, a chess match won by Emilia Romagna 1-0 over Piemonte VdA which certainly did not fail. Proetto in the 15th minute he scored a goal as heavy as a boulder.

Group E – No one could have expected such a frantic finish. Puglia beat Calabria 3-2 at the last gasp. Lombardy left Trento no chance (6-0). Three teams with the same points also in the separate classification. Regulatory quibbles, goals scored between the three teams involved and then in the entire group brought the Apulians to first place and the Calabrians to second. A cruel ending but sport always needs a winner. Lombardy took the three points with five different scorers. Calabria chased Puglia throughout the match, lost, without knowing that Alessi’s goal in the 13th minute, the second for Zema’s girls, would have been the decisive one for progressing to the next round.
