The driver who, in the early afternoon of yesterday, while driving her car and was involved in a road accident linked to her behavior on Via Dante Alighieri, fled and did not provide assistance to a minor boy at the riding a scooter which she had collided with.

The injured boy, left on the ground, was helped by some passers-by and then by the 118 medics who arrived with an ambulance, through which he was then transported to the emergency room of the “L. Bonomo” of Andria.

Local police officers intervened on site, carrying out the necessary investigations and launching intensive investigations which, this morning, allowed the vehicle involved and the escaped driver to be fully identified, who was referred to the Judicial Authority. Her driving license was also withdrawn due to the application of the expected period of suspension, which will be imposed by the Prefect of BAT.

From the Local Police Command it has been learned that in the week that is just ending, numerous serious road accidents have been recorded and several reports of crime have been learned, for example for driving while intoxicated (cyclist involved in a head-on collision which occurred on Via Santa Maria dei Miracles with an alcohol content higher than 1.5 grams/litre) – escape, failure to help and injuries perpetrated by a motorist driving a Lancia Ypsilon who did not help a mother and her child on a scooter following a road accident which occurred on Viale Pietro Nenni.

Furthermore, yesterday on the ramp joining the ring road from SP 2 (formerly SP 231) another road accident occurred between a lorry and a car, the driver of which suffered injuries with an initial prognosis of 30 days and was hospitalized at the Bari Polyclinic.

And a few hours ago, in the Andria area, another road accident occurred with injuries on the SP 2 (formerly SP 231), detected by the Local Police who are ascertaining the dynamics. The injured person was transported under Code red due to dynamics to the Bonomo hospital in Andria.
