Despite the victory against Puteolana, president Luigi Amato’s Real Forio will have to play the play-out, at the Salvatore Calise, against Pomigliano to achieve the goal of salvation. The men of Mr. Sanchez, absent from the bench due to suspension, play well and dominate for most of the match but in the end they are unable to reach direct salvation.
The match
Under the eyes of president Amato and the mayor of the municipality of Forio Stani Verde, the green-and-whites started better and created the first scoring opportunities, especially with Arrulo who kicked with his right foot in the 8th minute but Russo responded presently. The hosts increase their intensity and block their opponents in their own half. At 13′ the match broke the deadlock: Arcamone “draws” for Filosa who scores a fabulous goal on the fly and breaks the deadlock. 1-0. Forio is not satisfied and also finds the second goal: corner taken by Filosa towards Arrulo who heads it 2-0. The guests try to create dangers but it is always the islanders who make themselves dangerous, especially at the 21st when Sogliuzzo, with his right foot, tries to overcome Russo, but the goalkeeper responds with his feet present. Puteolana relies on the flames of Larynge who: first from a corner kick finds Palumbo who, in turn, finds a super response from Iandoli, and then tries personally but the crossbar denies him the goal. We go to half-time with a double advantage for the green and whites.
In the second half the ball passes to Puteolana who tries to create danger but the island defense responds. The first chance of the second half came in the 20th minute with Massa who almost reached the top corner. 120 seconds later it is Massa who kicks again and, in this case too, he comes close to scoring. The match progresses with the two teams playing with the clock. In the 44th minute, however, the goal made it 2-1 for the guests with Sanguineti beating Re (who replaced Iandoli). It ends with the victory of Real Forio who, however, will have to play in the play-out with Pomigliano.
