Sassari. News this afternoon in the political panorama of Sassari which is preparing for the start of the electoral campaign in view of the appointment on 8 and 9 June when the citizens will be called to choose the new mayor and renew the municipal council. “Azione”, Calenda’s party, sides with the centre-right and with the provincial secretary Valerio Zoccheddu – a candidate in the regional elections in February on a list that included +Europa and UPC in support of Renato Soru – announces that «the provincial board of directors, in agreement with the regional secretariat, it convincingly accepted the proposal received from Professor Gavino Mariotti to support his candidacy for mayor in the municipal elections of Sassari. The management of Azione – explains a press note – considered that the candidate’s skills and the qualities he demonstrated in protecting the public interest during his university assignment are the necessary conditions so that, with his own list, he can compete for the election of Professor Mariotti as mayor of Sassari”.
