Don Bertolotti settles, the president condemned

He was accused of mistreatment of disabled guests of the facility he managed, Don Angelo Bertolotti settled for 4 months. The priest was accused of mistreatment of disabled guests at the Manfredini center in via Beati, an investigation which hit the headlines in November 2017, with the arrest of the religious man. Don Bertolotti had already agreed to a plea deal of 2 years and 11 months in 2018, this new plea agreement comes in continuity with the previous crime.

Father Giancarlo Plessi, president of the Manfredini center, was also convicted on charges of mistreatment in competition. The latter, during his testimony, said he was innocent.

According to the investigative findings, the priest allegedly used violence on several occasions against some guests of the centre. The investigations would have started from a complaint, following which the Flying Squad of the police headquarters would have started investigations, also with the aid of hidden cameras. The arrest took place on Thursday 9 November.
