A 30-year-old man was stopped by the police for the killing of a 32-year-old, found this morning in Villafranca Padovana around 6.30 am, with a deep wound on his side, made with a knife. The victim is Michael Boschetto, his neighbor, who knew the alleged killer well, now at the disposal of the judicial authorities. The Carabinieri and the police are investigating the case.
The lifeless body reported to 112
According to what Ansa learned, the victim’s body was seen by a resident who raised the alarm on 112. While the police arrived on the scene, the attacker ran away and the noises woke up the dogs in the nearby houses. A police inspector who lives in the same neighborhood then looked out to understand what was happening and noticed the alleged killer trying to climb over a fence. Having recognized him, he set out on his trail, coordinating with the 112 crew. Shortly afterwards he spotted the alleged murderer half hidden in a hedge, chased him and caught up with him.
Suspected killer arrested
At the end of the investigation, the State Police and the Carabinieri proceeded with the joint arrest, flagrantly, of the thirty-year-old who was arrested immediately after the murder. The man is now available to the judicial authorities. The investigations, conducted jointly by the Carabinieri of Padua and the State Police, are coordinated by the prosecutor of the Padua Prosecutor’s Office Benedetto Roberti, who arrived at the scene of the accident.
The victim and the arrested man knew each other
The victim of Villafranca’s murder and his alleged killer knew each other well, and both had a history of drug addiction problems. The alleged killer had recently been in a recovery facility. It remains to be understood what happened this morning, while both were in the house of the 32-year-old, who was later killed.
