Descriptive text here

MARINA DI CARRARA – The area is privately owned but is completely abandoned, it is located in the middle of the town center between houses and buildings, and for decades now it has been a real jungle in which shrubs and unkempt vegetation have taken over and in which rats proliferate undisturbed. There are plants that emerge from the rusty fence to take over the sidewalk, forcing passers-by to get off and especially when turning, putting their own safety at risk. Via Zeri in Marina di Carrara is a small street in western Marina that connects three secondary but strategic roads: via Vicinale Macchie, via Tresana and via Bassagrande. At a certain point, before reaching via Bassagrande, after passing the intersection with via Tresana, via Zeri makes two curves like an S: these approximately 500 square meters of wild scrub are located right on the second curve, on the sea side. The residents, tired of a situation that has gone on for too long, are calling for the camp to be cleaned. Paolo Pitanti lives right in front and complains about lawnmower cables being gnawed and damaged several times and large rat droppings found in the garden. “Once we caught one: he was as big as a cat” he says. “It’s an unsanitary situation – he underlines – We can’t go on like this. It then becomes dangerous for pedestrians to walk along the pavement.”
