POTENZA – New inconveniences will characterize the road system on the Potenza – Melfi route throughout the summer.
To complete the scheduled maintenance work on the “Seminiello” viaduct – 5 million euros allocated – a second phase of intervention will be started in the next few days.
An initial construction site had, in fact, affected the parts underneath the viaduct, without causing any particular inconvenience to traffic. To move forward, however, from 2 May to 4 October the stretch between Melfi and the Leonessa exit will be closed to traffic.
Traffic will be diverted onto neighboring state roads connected to the industrial area of San Nicola di Melfi.
A specific temporary solution has been identified, in particular, for the residents of the Leonessa hamlet of Melfi who will be able to use the municipal road put back together.
The intervention involves the rehabilitation of the structures, the consolidation of the foundations and some works in the section affected by a landslide along the route which until 2018 was the Melfi-Ofanto provincial road.
