Beaten and robbed at home: four arrests in the Crotone area
Descriptive text here

The Carabinieri of the Petilia Policastro Company arrested four people – one of whom ended up in prison and the other three under house arrest – on charges of robbery, injuries, carrying objects capable of offending and threats.

The measures were ordered by the investigating judge of the Court of Crotone at the request of the Prosecutor’s Office. The investigation that led to the issuing of precautionary measures began on the night of February 23 following the report of a robbery against an Algerian citizen domiciled in Petilia Policastro. From the reconstruction of the military who operated in close synergy with the Prosecutor’s Office Crotone , it emerged that the recipients of the measure that night, after having broken down the door of the victim’s home and threatened and beaten her with bars, knives, kicks and punches, robbed her of approximately six hundred euros in cash. During the attack the victim managed to free herself and run away but she was caught and further beaten and, before being left lying on the ground, her smartphone was also robbed. Alerted by some passers-by who noticed what had happened, the military arrived on the scene almost immediately and found one of the four arrested who, despite the presence of the police, continued to utter death threats against the Algerian citizen. The first useful elements were thus collected and both the descriptions of the attackers provided by the victim and the witnesses and the images taken by the public and private video surveillance systems in the area were analysed.

Having identified the possible perpetrators, the military tracked them down near their homes and the places they usually frequented. One of them was not found at home but later turned himself in to the barracks.
