Descriptive text here

A May Day of joint initiatives for Acli, Cisl and Mcl. The three Arezzo entities will promote an intense program of events which, from the morning to the late afternoon of Wednesday 1 May, will provide an opportunity to share the values underlying Labor and Workers’ Day as a day dedicated to commemoration, aggregation and reflection on current issues and problems.

The celebrations will open at 9.30 am with the now traditional visit to the State Archives for the laying of a wreath of flowers followed by a moment of reflection and a meeting with the family members of Piero Bruni and Filippo Bagni who, in 2018, lost their life following a tragic accident. The delegation of Acli, Cisl and Mcl will then move to the monument to those killed at work in viale Mecenate where, in the presence of the banner of the Province, all the unrelated deaths in the Arezzo area will be symbolically remembered, stimulating a reflection on the importance of pursuing a common commitment towards the culture of safety, prevention and legality. The program will then continue from 4.00 pm with a debate hosted by CaMu – Casa della Musica in Piazza Grande and moderated by the journalist Luca Tosi who will rely on the words of Luigi Scatizzi (president of the Acli of Arezzo), Silvia Russo (general secretary of the CISL of Arezzo) and Maurizio Pagliai (president of the MCL of Arezzo) who, in light of the experiences of their respective realities, will deal with the most urgent challenges related to the world of work between stability, equity in pay, training, opportunities for young people and, obviously , protection of the health and safety of workers. A moment dedicated to music and art will be scheduled at 4.30 pm with the concert of the Arezzo Youth Orchestra which, led by Maestro Roberto Pasquini, brings together musicians of different ages to propose a joint educational journey aimed at the growth and opening of a possible professional future. Finally, the day is scheduled to end at 6.30 pm with the Holy Mass for those killed at work at the church of Santa Maria della Pieve.

The Acli May Day will be further enriched by a parallel initiative dedicated to socialization for workers and pensioners promoted by the Acli club of Ruscello in collaboration with the Acli Elderly and Pensioners Federation. At 10.30 the “Free walk for all” will be proposed which, from Ruscello, will propose a circular itinerary of approximately six kilometers on the hills surrounding the small hamlet on the outskirts of Arezzo, with a rich breakfast offered halfway through the route with bread, cold cuts, wine and water. The walk will be followed by a convivial lunch at the “Le Ginestre” campsite which aims to create an intergenerational meeting opportunity open to the whole family, from children to the elderly, to spend the day of celebration together.
