Beer sommelier? Of course yes in the first complete course to learn about the world of “blondes”. Ais Romagna organizes it, eight classroom lessons plus an external lesson, in just over a month: from 13 May to 18 June 2024 at the Ais headquarters in Cesena.

For those who want to learn about and venture into the fantastic world of beer, here is the path to take. There are two levels proposed by Ais Romagna. The first level of the course focuses on the rudiments of tasting with hints on pairing with food, production techniques and raw materials, the most well-known styles, the laws and history of beer. Each lesson includes the tasting of four beers. The level also includes a visit to a brewery and, at the end of the course, an evaluation quiz and tasting of one of the beers covered by the lessons.

The second level of the AIS beer sommelier course, in addition to perfecting tasting skills (including the recognition of defects) and offering the knowledge necessary for correct service, focuses on pairing with various foods. Passing the final exam will give access to the title of AIS beer sommelier.

To get to know the fascinating world of beer in its entirety, it is possible to take the course of 16 lessons, offered in two levels, plus the possible exam. All lessons are entirely dedicated to this popular drink. What you will study at the first level: Raw materials; Production; Tasting and card; Styles: UK and USA; Styles: Germany and Czech Republic; Styles: Belgium; Styles: Italy and Italian legislation; Introduction to Food-Beer pairing.

What you will study at the second level: In-depth analysis of tasting; Service and defects; Sensations of food, food – wine pairing sheet; Pairings: pasta and pizza; Pairings: meat and fish; Pairings: cured meats and cheeses; Pairings: dessert.
