Forlì, another 500 thousand euros for the Romiti church

That imposing construction site, visible from every corner of the Forlì neighborhood most affected by the disastrous flood of May 2023, attests that the work on the new Romiti church is nearing completion. After the laying of the first stone, carried out last June 21st by bishop Livio Corazza, the construction site really took off.

And it is news these days that something new is looming on the horizon of the Romitian neighborhood: «To help us after the flood disaster – says Don Loriano Valzania, born in 1954, priest since 1980 and parish priest of Santa Maria del Voto since 2003 – the CEI has allocated another 500 thousand euros, with which we will also be able to start the construction of the so-called pastoral part of the new parish complex, which will be named after Saint Paul VI”. Why this pontiff, perhaps the least flashy of the last century? «Because he was the most prophetic pope of the 20th century and this is intended to be a prophecy and testimony in an epochal change».

Returning to the work in progress «We are at a good point – explains Don Loriano – the church is already on the roof and even the bell tower, which will be 27 meters high, is only missing the top part. The construction company Stylcasa of Forlì (also responsible for the new “chapel” of the friars in via Borghina in Vecchiazzano, ed.) could deliver the completed building to us in the first months of 2025″.
