An earthquake at 5.44 am felt throughout the Phlegraean area but also in most of the neighborhoods of Naples. A long and very intense telluric event. The earthquake was also felt in Pianura, Posillipo, Marano and in a large part of the province of Naples. People woken up in their sleep. Over the course of the night, the seismographs of the Vesuvian Observatory recorded around 20 tremors, however of low magnitude.

«The earthquake had its epicenter in the Gulf of Pozzuoli towards the Bacoli area at a depth of approximately 3 kilometers with a magnitude of 3.9. It was felt more along the coastal strip but also in some internal areas of the province”, declared Mauro Di Vito, director of the Vesuvian Observatory.
