It is an astonished Castellanza that today has to deal with the passing of “its” mayor, who passed away yesterday, still 51 years old, after the celebrations of April 25th, struck by a fatal illness when she still had the tricolor sash on. The celebrations for April 25th, then the illness

Cerini, architect and mayor of Castellanza since 2016, a role to which she has dedicated herself in recent years with great passion, on the morning of Thursday 25 April he participated in the celebrations for the 79th anniversary of the Liberation. Once the ceremony was over she returned to the town hall to leave the tricolor sash in the office and in those minutes she exchanged a few words with the custodian, to whom she said she would go up and get something hot because she felt unwell.

Then the illness, unfortunately at a time when the municipality was deserted for the public holiday. A local police officer found Mirella Cerini a few hours laterbut when it was already too late. The rescue efforts and the rush to the Busto Arsizio hospital were useless: for the first town of Castellanza there was now nothing left to do.
