Castagna case, the opposition to the attack – Teramo

TERAMO. The resignation of the teacher Andrea Castagna by the board of directors of the Primo Riccitelli music and theater society, a position he held upon designation by the political majority that leads the Municipality of Teramo, unleashed opposition in the municipal council. Castagna justified his abandonment in a long letter in which he laments the lack of sharing, but also his own exclusion, regarding the cultural policy choices in the city, starting from the failure of the D’Alberto administration to identify an alternative venue for the Municipal Theatre, closed for works that will last years.
The representative of the council minority on the Riccitelli board of directors, Caterina Provvisiero of Forza Italia, writes in a note: «Once again we highlight a completely superficial and not very participatory activity of the administration, very superficial, as happened in the management of the renovation works of the municipal theater whose start, although expected and proclaimed by the administration for the month of June 2023, has not yet materialized, as has the equal commitment to create an alternative structure in a short time. We are still navigating the field of hypotheses, denoting the total absence of due planning by the administration in the cultural sector, which is no exception compared to the planning abilities of this majority in all sectors of the city’s public life”.
